Dr Sonia van Gessel has been a medical Doctor for 20 years. Trained in New Zealand, she has been working in Australia for the past 10 years.

Dr Ankur will be relocating to Medical on Burleigh on the 20th November, 2023!

Dr Ankur is currently offering bulk billing services for children & pensioners.
He earned his Bachelor of Medicine degree in 2014 from Deakin University in Geelong & is a Fellow of the RACGP.
Following the completion of his residency at GCUH, he obtained a Graduate Diploma in Child Health (University of Sydney).
Dr. Ankur has a passion for all aspects of general practice, with a particular focus on paediatrics, medical treatments for hair loss, medicinal cannabis prescribing, smoking cessation, & iron infusions.
Recently, Dr Ankur relocated back to Queensland to achieve a better work-life balance. In his free time, he enjoys collecting vinyl records, exploring new cuisines, playing cricket, & going for drives.

Dr Shae graduated medicine from UQ & went on to work at GCUH & Robina Hospitals before becoming a GP.
In 2021 she was awarded the Monty Kent Hughes Memorial Medal for achieving the highest mark in Australia in the clinical component of the Royal Australian College of GP Fellowship exams!
Dr Shae enjoys all aspects of general practice, in particular, pregnancy care, women's health & chronic disease management.
Outside of work, Shae enjoys spending time with her family & attempting to train her Australian Cattle Dog, Nelly.

Dr Kassey grew up in rural Queensland!
During her training, she spent time in Nepal in general medicine & Ophthalmology.
Dr Kassey completed her residency at the PA Brisbane in general medicine, mental health, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Surgery, Paeds, newborns & Emergency. She has a background in research & teaching, & has published research papers nationally & abroad. Dr Kassey has lectured medical students & junior doctors for GCUH & Bond University. She has been a clinical examiner for JCU.
Dr Kassey practises with compassion & care, striving to help you & your family with your healthcare needs in a kind, comprehensive & individualised manner.

Dr Tyler graduated with his MBBS from James Cook University in 2017. He completed his first three years at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital & over the past three years has worked in various regional hospitals in different states.
He has an interest in Chronic Disease management, Men's health, Mental Health & Paediatrics.

Prior to being a doctor, Tyler was a musical theatre performer & still enjoys singing & playing the piano.
He also likes to spend his free time reading and exploring the outdoors.

From 9 October Dr Nicci will be seeing patients at Medical on Robina 299 Scottsdale Drive Robina (near Varsity lakes Train Station).

While Dr Nicci enjoys all aspects of general practice medicine, she has a special interest & Masters in Sports Medicine.
Dr Nicci also loves her paediatric patients, skin cancer management, trauma & emergency medicine. Dr Nicci was working through specialising in paediatrics when her own son arrived!

Dr Fabian has completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG) & was awarded First-Class Honors in Pre-eclampsia in Pregnancy & is a Co-author on a Neonatal/Paediatric publication.
He has a keen focus on Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Paediatric Care, Iron Infusions, Implanon & Mirena Insertion.
Dr Fabian is also a Director on the Board of GPGC.
A true GC local, you’ll find Fabian outside of work with his wife & daughter in Currumbin, enjoying surfing & cycling.

Dr Liesel begins 30th of May 2023!
Dr Liesel loves General Practice because she understands a thorough, caring & holistic approach can change people's lives. She is passionate about preventative care & the role of lifestyle, diet, relationships & exercise in promoting & maintaining good health. Dr Liesel has ten years in ED & a Psychology degree.
Outside of work, she is the mother of 2 grownup daughters and is happily married. She enjoys reading, travel, Pilates, weight training & most of all - cooking and eating! Every day starts with a food strategy. Guilty pleasure – cheese of every description…

A home grown local! Dr Jardin completed his GP Fellowship, Diploma of Child Health, & is experienced in rural medicine, working at Minjerribah (Nth Straddie) & Tamborine Mountain for the last 6 years. Where does he find the time?
Dr Jardin enjoys the full breadth of family medicine with a keen interest in paediatrics, chronic disease, men’s & elders health. He also has advanced Skin Cancer & Dermoscopy training.
When not seeing patients, Dr Jardin can be found teaching GP Registrars as a Medical Educator for GPTQ, or just kicking a football at the park.

Dr Greg is a dad, husband & GC GP.
He is a true 'generalist', managing all conditions & all ages.
Greg graduated from JCU with an MBBS. He has extensive experience in Paeds, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Emergency Medicine & Surgery; incl Plastic & Maxillofacial surgery. Greg is a Fellow of the RACGP.
Greg's special interest is medical education. He is the current medical educator for GPTQ & has been an examiner for both the RACGP & Bond Uni School of Medicine.
Outside his practice, Greg spends time with his family enjoying everything the GC has to offer at the beach, parks or hinterland.

Practicing in Burleigh since 1997 Dr Mark Spanner has opened the prestigious Medical on Miami.
A Fellow of the RACGP, Dr Mark plays an active role in educating medical students and doctors specialising in family medicine.
Dr Mark has great interest in all aspects of family medicine including Adult Healthcare, Pediatrics and Obstetrics.
An avid fisherman, Dr Mark runs with the Canadian salmon each year.

Dr Nick is the Executive Dean of Health Sciences and Medicine at Bond University, a Fellow of the RACGP and also the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine.
Dr Nick’s special interests include travel health, preventive medicine and respiratory illnesses.
When not at Medical on Miami Dr Nick is involved in research and teaching at Bond University.
Since coming to the Gold Coast in January 2019 Dr Nick has been learning to surf!
